The ‘Dores punished the Blue Raiders on the ground with Ralph Webb rushing for 211 yard on 29 carries with two touchdowns. Khari Blasingame scored another two TDs and Kyle Shurmur threw his first TD of the season to freshman Kalija Lipscomb.
The game was interrupted by a weather delay with 5:40 left in the second quarter, which lasted nearly two hours. Vandy held a 19-10 lead with 12 points coming off MTSU turnovers forced by the Black Death defense.
The Vandy offense came to life after the deal. Shurmur was 0-7 passing before the weather hit but completed seven straight once play resumed and finished 15-28 for the game.
