Derek Mason didn’t change his ways on how the QB position was managed in Thursday’s 13-10 loss to South Carolina.

Mason said he and offensive coordinator, Andy Ludwig’s plan was predetermined to play both Kyle Shurmur and Wade Freebeck at QB. Shurmur, the starter, had Vandy up 10-0 early in the second quarter when he was pulled.
Freebeck’s two possessions yielded one yard of total offense.
Shurmur and the offense struggled to gain any type of consistency once he returned to the field and didn’t score again.
South Carolina won the game on a 55 yard field goal with 35 seconds left.
